Budget 2013: UK prepares for £2.5bn cuts

George Osborne will set out how he intends to use cuts to Whitehall budgets to benefit the UK economy, when he delivers his fourth Budget on Wednesday.

The chancellor has told cabinet colleagues they will have to cut 2% of their departments' spending over the next two years, saving about £2.5bn.

The Budget comes after the economy shrank at the end of 2012 and the UK lost its triple A credit rating. Naomi Grimley reports.
