How can Osborne unleash growth?

On Budget day the Today programme came from a cafe in Nottingham.

With a surrounding population of 750,000, the local economy is a £12bn enterprise, and boasts strong health, finance and logistics sectors. Nottingham is one of eight so-called "core cities" whose economic potential Lord Heseltine, among others, wants to unleash.

Today business presenter Simon Jack was joined by George Cowcher, the chief executive of the Nottingham Chamber of Commerce, Jurgen Meier, managing director of Siemens UK and Ireland Industry Sector and Andrew Sentance, and economist and a former member of the Bank of England's monetary policy committee, to discuss how best the chancellor can stimulate growth.

First broadcast on BBC Radio 4's Today programme on Wednesday 20 March 2013.
