Taiwan's poor increasingly rely on state welfare

In Taiwan there is a stark reminder of how difficult it is to achieve social inclusion even when you have solid economic growth.

The number of people living below the poverty line shot up by nearly 30% last year.

That means the government is increasingly having to step in to help.
