Chancellor Osborne stands firm on economic plan

Chancellor George Osborne has said he will stick to his current economic plan despite recent calls from the IMF to rethink his austerity-led approach.

Speaking as G20 finance ministers and central bank governors gathered in Washington, Mr Osborne suggested that the UK economy was "healing".

He also insisted that his government was taking the right steps to support the economy and lower the deficit.
