Is 'showrooming' killing the high street?

Many shoppers admit to "showrooming" a phenomenon whereby consumers visit shops to see and test products, before going online for a better price, and buying elsewhere.

Research by design agency Foolproof found that 24% of people showroomed while Christmas shopping - and 40% of them took their business elsewhere.

According to researchers at market research company TNS, one third of consumers around the world admit to this retail tactic.
