UK economy set for modest recovery

The Bank of England has said the UK economy is set for a "modest and sustained" recovery.

Sir Mervyn King said economic growth should strengthen as the year progresses, though inflation would remain "stubbornly" high.

But that news was tempered by figures showing that unemployment has gone up for the third month in a row.
