Apple CEO Tim Cook hits back in US tax row
CEO Tim Cook has spoken out in defence of Apple, after a Senate committee accused the company of using "a complex web of offshore entities" to avoid paying billions of dollars in US income taxes.
Earlier, panel chairman Senator Carl Levin accused the company of avoiding paying $9bn in tax in the US in 2012 alone.
But Mr Cook said: "We pay all the taxes we owe. Every single dollar."
The Senate committee accepts there is no evidence that Apple has acted illegally.
