Tata sees falling car sales for first time in 10 years

Tata Motors is a household name in India and is famous for producing what it says is the world's cheapest car, the Nano.

The popularity of its cars - which include the Jaguar and Land Rover luxury brands - has made India one of the hottest car markets for more than a decade.

However, that has been changing. Over the past six months Tata saw sales fall for the first time in 12 years.

A slowing economy and high interest rates have kept customers away, which will likely impact its earnings results when they are presented in August.
