Singapore economy suffers from smoke
For the past few days Singapore has been shrouded in a severe haze, caused by drifting smoke from wood-fires on Indonesia's Sumatra.
It prompted the government in the city state to issue health alerts as the Pollutant Standards Index hit its highest level since 1997.
There is a cost to health, but the problem, which is almost an annual one, also has economic repercussions.
