Paying bribes for food
An Indian worker found himself forced to pay a bribe to a public official to get a food rationing card to which he is freely entitled.
Ram Singh's monthly income averages $100 (£70). The bribe he was forced to pay was $15 (£10).
The ration card enables people on low incomes to buy food at prices set by the government.
Mr Singh told the BBC: "I desperately needed the ration card to get government subsided food. In India, it is very hard to get your work done without paying a bribe."
