Philippines growth fails to filter down

Across the Philippines, especially in Manila, traffic is gridlocked and many big roads are falling apart. Manufacturers and farmers find it hard to transport their goods quickly.

And that costs everyone money. But things are beginning to change for the Asian nation whose economic growth is on the rise.

The country's President, Benigno Aquino, who is halfway through his term, and delivered his fourth state of the nation address on Monday, has identified the need for new highways and better airports.
