Amazon boss Bezos buys Washington Post

Amazon chief executive Jeff Bezos has agreed to purchase the Washington Post newspaper for $250m (£163m).

Mr Bezos is buying the paper and its other print properties in a personal capacity.

In a statement, Mr. Bezos said that he understood the Post's "critical role'' in Washington and said its values would not change.
