Asian wage growth led by China

Wages across Asia have almost doubled between 2000 and 2011, according to the International Labour Organization.

The growth was led mainly by China where salaries in urban centres have risen at an annual rate of 10% over the past decade.

The growth in wages is likely to have an impact on low-cost manufacturing in the region, as well as company earnings.
