Are private healthcare patients getting a good deal?

Private hospital patients are paying too much for treatment because of a lack of local competition, according to the Competition Commission (CC).

More than 100 private hospitals around the country have few local rivals, and many of those hospitals are owned by just three major groups, the CC said.

So how can patients ensure they get good value for money?

BBC Radio 5 live's Dominic Laurie put the question to Damien Marmion, managing director of Bupa Health funding and Patricia Lee, CEO of Nuffield Hospitals.
