RBS boss 'delighted' bank will not be split in two

RBS chief executive Ross McEwan has said he is "delighted" following the decision not to split the bank into 'good' and 'bad' banks.

He told BBC business editor Robert Peston he expected to speed up the reduction of 'toxic' debt which, he said, was now less than 10% of the bank's assets.

A report found that RBS had performed badly in lending to small businesses - Mr McEwan put it down to the fact that "five years ago we were broke".
