Housing market: 'Things don't turn around overnight'
The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (Rics) says there is a dangerous imbalance between supply and demand for housing, and that many of its members are reporting prices at an 11-year high.
It says that while government schemes like Help to Buy are allowing more people get mortgages, there are not enough homes available.
Rics chief economist Simon Rubinsohn told BBC News there were "positive signals from the new-build market... [but] these things don't turn around overnight".
