Dixons boss: High Street still has important role

Electronic retailer Dixons is continuing to do well on the High Street, despite increased competition from the internet.

Dixons Retail is the parent company of Currys and PC world - brands which are increasingly found under the same roof.

Its chief executive Sebastian James told the Today programme bricks-and-mortar High Street shops still play an important role for businesses.

"If you're going to live with a television for five years, you really need to see it, look at it and touch it," he said.

First broadcast on BBC Radio 4's Today programme on Tuesday 17 December 2013.
