Asda and John Lewis bosses on Muslim staff policy

Other retailers have been reacting following an apology from Marks & Spencer after a Muslim member of staff refused to serve a customer trying to buy alcohol.

Asda chief executive Andy Clarke told the Today programme he did not think the situation would arise at his supermarket as employees would be moved elsewhere "if that's what they wished".

Meanwhile John Lewis managing director Andy Street told Radio 5live's On The Money, "We've not even had to have a policy on this" as it had never been an issue.
