Job prospects for graduates to improve in 2014, says survey
Graduate recruitment will improve in 2014 - but most available jobs will go to those with experience, a survey suggests.
Figures from High Fliers Research show that although recruitment will increase by 9%, more of a third of jobs will go to people with work experience at the employer.
First Direct bank boss Tracy Garrad told BBC Radio 5 live's Breakfast that they considered internships to be "really important" when recruiting.
She said: "For people coming into the workplace, it's good to have an understanding of the practicalities and not have just a narrow, theoretical view about things."
