Justin King: What next for Sainsbury's boss?

Justin King, the boss of Sainsbury's is to step down in July after 10 years running the supermarket chain.

Mr King was appointed boss in March 2004 and since then presided over record growth at the supermarket - overseeing 9 years of consecutive sales growth, and resolving the problems - including logistics and supply chain problems - that plagued the retailer in the early 2000s.

He will be replaced by Mike Coupe, who is currently the firm's commercial director, and has also been in the so-called top team for ten years.

Richard Perks, research director at Mintel Partners, looked at what could be next for Mr King.
