Why do women outnumber men in technology in the Gulf?

There are proportionally more female tech entrepreneurs in the Middle East than anywhere else in the world, according to a recent US study.

So why are so many Arab women getting into this field? Is it a sign of increasing gender equality or is it because careers in technology fit with traditional values?
