Energy watchdog on reforms to increase competition
Energy regulator Ofgem has been giving more detail of its measures to improve competition and scrutinise the "big six" suppliers.
Speaking to BBC Breakfast, Rachel Fletcher from Ofgem said it would be possible for the firms to publish wholesale power prices two years in advance - a move designed to "open up the market".
"What today's reforms are about is making sure that despite upward pressures, customers can get the best deal possible in the market... and ensuring that new players can come in and compete against the larger companies."
