RBS boss Ross McEwan: Full BBC interview
New Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) chief executive Ross McEwan has been talking to the BBC after the bank reported its biggest annual loss since being rescued by the UK government.
"£8.2bn in anyone's mind is a very big loss," Mr McEwan told the BBC's chief economics correspondent Hugh Pym.
"Underneath that loss we've got a very profitable business," he added, defending the RBS bonus pool: "I need to be fair paying for our people so I can actually keep them onboard."
