Lord Browne encourages young gay workers to come out
The former chief executive of BP has encouraged gay City workers to come out and stop living secret lives.
Lord Browne was revealed to be gay when his former boyfriend sold details about their relationship to a national newspaper.
Despite feeling that he had to resign from his role at BP, Lord Browne said the act was a "favour" which opened up "a brand new life" for him.
He told BBC Radio 5 live's Richard Bacon that his advice to young people who had "nothing to lose and a lot to gain" would be, "if in doubt, just come out".
