Thailand's military rulers attempt to boost the economy

Thailand's military rulers have announced a series of emergency measures aimed at averting an economic crisis - two weeks after taking power in a coup.

The proposals include a price cap on fuel and an offer of loan guarantees for small businesses.

They also want to push ahead with big infrastructure projects that were stalled under the ousted government.

In addition, the army says it will act on a backlog of investment applications, worth more than $20bn (£12bn).
