Farnborough Airshow: Scorpion fighter jet on show
The Scorpion jet went from drawing board to first flight in 23 months.
Using off-the-shelf technology, the company behind the fighter, US-based Textron AirLand, say they have built a low-cost aircraft that fills a gap in the market.
But, as yet, no customer has placed an order for the $20m (£12m) Scorpion.
That is why the aircraft's international debut at this week's Farnborough Airshow is so important.
