British Gas criticised by Which? over customer bills

Consumer group Which? says British Gas is not doing enough to reduce customers' bills when wholesale gas prices have fallen.

It comes after British Gas reported a sharp drop in profits for the first half of the year due to warmer weather.

Parent company Centrica said it was "good news" for the average customer that bills would be £90 lower this year.

Richard Lloyd, executive director of consumer group Which? dismissed the comments saying: "British Gas profits are down because of a warm winter, not lower prices."
