Bookmakers announce 'responsible gambling' measures

Four of Britain's biggest bookmakers - William Hill, Ladbrokes, Gala Coral and Paddy Power - have announced a series of voluntary measures aimed at addressing public concerns about gambling.

They include setting up an independent standards commissioner to hold the industry to account, and banning TV adverts before 9pm.

Matt Zarb-Cousin, from the Campaign for Fairer Gambling, joined Carl Leaver, CEO of Gala Coral, to debate the issue with the BBC's John Humphrys.
