New Tesco chief financial officer to start work

Troubled retailer Tesco has announced that its new chief financial officer, Alan Stewart, is to start work on Tuesday, more than two months earlier than originally planned.

Mr Stewart's first job will be to deal with the disclosure that the company had overstated its latest profit estimate by £250m.
