Wind farms 'could address South Africa power shortages'

Part of the answer to South Africa's continuous power shortages could lie in using renewable energy, the BBC's Taurai Maduna reports.

Large wind farms such as Jeffreys Bay on the Eastern Cape are being created as part of a government drive towards clean energy.

South Africa's energy crisis threatens to cripple industry if speedy solutions are not found, and engineers hope that connecting wind farms to the national grid will add to the energy mix and help keeps the lights on.
