CBI head: Any job is better than unemployment register

Business organisation CBI has started its annual conference in London with a call to to raise living standards.

CBI Director General John Cridland told the BBC's Ben Thompson it was important to cut the deficit while maintaining growth.

However, he denied there were too few quality jobs: "We've had a jobs rich recovery... Frankly any job is better than being stuck on the unemployment register."
