E.On to cut gas prices by 3.5% 'to reflect wholesale drop'

E.On has become the first of the big six energy firms to cut its gas prices, dropping rates by 3.5%, equivalent to £24 off the average annual household gas bill.

Wholesale gas prices are 30% lower than this time last year and firms have been under pressure to pass this reduction on to customers.

John Moylan reports.
