Will BT-EE merger mean higher mobile phone costs?

BT has agreed the terms of a deal to buy the UK's largest mobile phone operator, EE.

The takeover, which is subject to approval by BT's shareholders and clearance from the Competition and Markets Authority, is worth £12.5bn.

Orange and T-Mobile have already merged.

Rudolf van der Berg is a researcher at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, and says the reduction in operators might lead to an increase in prices.
