Apple Watch set to be priced at San Francisco event
Apple is expected to provide more details about its smartwatch at an event in San Francisco later.
The US tech firm has enjoyed huge success with its latest iPhone range - but analysts are divided about whether its Watch will provide it with another hit.
Forecasts for the wearable device range from sales of eight million to 60 million units by the end of the year.
Even the lower figure would surpass demand for rivals' products. Only 6.8 million smartwatches were shipped, external across the board in 2014, according to the Smartwatch Group consultancy.
Apple is likely to reveal how it intends to price its range - it has only said it will start at $349 so far - as well as provide more details about the Watch's functions and specify its battery life - all factors that could determine how many people buy it.
The BBC's Jeremy Howell previews the announcement.
