China's biggest car show opens as economy slows

The Shanghai Motor Show is a chance for global carmakers to show off their latest offerings to the world's biggest automotive market.

Last year, more than 23 million vehicles were sold in China, which puts it well ahead of the US.

But as the Chinese economy slows, so has demand for new cars, as the BBC's John Sudworth reports.
