Rail fare freeze 'very good news', says Claire Perry
The latest inflation figures show that prices are barely rising. The Consumer Price Index rose by 0.1% in July, after hitting zero in June.
Falling food and drink prices are helping to keep the overall rate low.
The Retail Price Index, which is used to set regulated rail fares, increased by 1% - that is the first time in more than a decade that fares will rise less than wages.
Rail minister Claire Perry called the 'freeze' of rail fares "very good news".
