HSBC IT glitch: 'It's really left me a bit skint'

Linn Boo is an IT worker from Huddersfield who should have been paid today, but she is among thousands of people who have been hit by an IT glitch involving HSBC accounts.

Now she is late paying her mortgage and has received a text from the bank saying she has incurred bank charges.

HSBC says it is working with other banks to ensure that customers do not lose out as a result of the IT problem.

"We are taking immediate steps to ensure the payments reach beneficiaries as quickly as possible," the bank said.
