VW board member: 'Staff acted criminally'
A Volkswagen board member has said some staff "acted criminally" over false emission tests.
Olaf Lies, who is also economy minister of Lower Saxony, told BBC's Newsnight anyone involved in the deception "must take personal responsibility".
The crisis at VW was caused after the discovery that some diesel cars were fitted with devices which could detect when the engine was being tested, and change the performance to improve results.
