Zimbabwe clamps down with its indigenisation laws

Foreign investors in Zimbabwe are closely watching the government's next move, now that a deadline for companies to comply with the country's indigenisation laws has passed.

The legislation requires all companies to be controlled by no less than 51% of local Zimbabweans.

The law itself dates back to 2008 and a similar deadline two years ago passed largely unobserved - but this time the government is promising action.

From Harare, the BBC's Brian Hungwe reports for Africa Business Report.
