Ghanaians urged to 'buy local produce'
So much of what African consumers use is imported and in extreme case cases, like Angola, almost everything - including food - is imported. It is a situation which often leads to ballooning deficits and other budgetary problems.
One desirable solution is to boost local manufacturing and encourage locals to buy locally-made goods - something that the government in Ghana is trying to do.
