Empowering women through education

About 17 million girls around the world will never get the chance to go to school. Without an education, these children and young women are at risk of getting pregnant at an early age.

But in India, social enterprise Protsahan is trying to break the cycle and empower girls by giving them access to new skills through creative education.

In Kenya, non-profit Heshima Kenya has also set up a programme - the Maisha Collective - to help female refugees deal with their trauma and learn skills to help them live independently.
