Softbank boss Son says ARM is 'investment for the future'
Softbank's acquisition of ARM is a long-term strategic investment "for the future", its chief executive Masayoshi Son has said.
The Japanese company considers ARM well placed to exploit the so-called "internet of things", which may see microchips embedded in whole new categories of household and business devices.
Mr Son added that Softbank's investment in ARM was an endorsement of the UK following the Brexit vote.
