Indians queue to change bank notes

Crowds have been gathering outside banks across India, as people try to exchange or deposit money that became virtually worthless overnight.

The Indian government made a surprise announcement on Tuesday withdrawing 500 and 1,000 rupee notes from circulation. The move is aimed at cracking down on illegal cash often called "black money".
