Standing ovation for student Joe Cotton at NUT conference

A teenager has been given a standing ovation after addressing members of a teaching union during their conference in Harrogate.

15-year-old Joe Cotton gave a speech to delegates of the National Union of Teachers where he spoke against the scrapping of the educational maintenance allowance (EMA).

The teenager, who is currently studying for his GCSE's, asked members of the union to do all they could to keep education "affordable and accessible".
