How a university clearing call centre works
Hundreds of thousands of teenagers in England, Wales and Northern Ireland are getting the results of their A- and AS-levels.
Results show the overall pass rate is up slightly, but for the first time in 15 years there has been no increase in the total proportion getting A or A* grades.
With a record demand for university places, ahead of a big rise in tuition fees next year, clearing call centres are dealing with a large number of inquiries.
