A-levels: Ofqual welcomes Gove letter
The chief regulator of Ofqual, the exam regulator for England, says she "very much welcomes" a letter from Michael Gove requesting that universities devise a new set of A-levels to ensure students are better prepared.
Michael Gove says he is concerned A-levels fail to properly prepare students for university- a concern echoed by Glenys Stacey.
She told the BBC that "one of the main functions and purposes of an A-level is to prepare that student for future progression".
