Teaching children other schools have excluded

Springwell Special Academy in Barnsley is a school for pupils that have been excluded from mainstream education.

Eighty pupils - from age four to 17 - attend the school having been referred by the local council.

For the BBC's Victoria Derbyshire programme, reporter Dan Johnson has been to the school to meet its students and teachers.

Here, Nathan plays a game to help him calm down, after he became angry at not being allowed to handle the school chickens.

Victoria Derbyshire is broadcast weekdays from 09:15-11:00 BST on BBC Two and the BBC News Channel. Follow the programme on Facebook and Twitter, and find all our content online.
