Student exams: 'We need a better system'
One in five students in independent schools received extra time to complete GCSE and A-level exams last year.
Pupils can qualify for the extra time, typically an extra half-hour on top of 2.5 hour exam because of special needs or disabilities like dyslexia.
Lucy Powell, former Labour shadow education secretary, tells the Today programme Ofqual needs "a better system" so pupils can get access arrangements that don't disadvantage schools with fewer resources.
