Living with blindness as a 14-year-old

Recent medical developments mean that some visually impaired people have the chance of having a little of their sight restored. One School Reporter, Kelsey, from Watford Boys Grammar School has been exploring one such development, the bionic eye.

With two artificial eyes himself and no light perception, he is not convinced the surgery is worth it. Kelsey takes us on a journey through his school day to show why for him, being blind is not a negative, it's just different.

His teachers are full of praise. As Ms Sklar, says "You just want to get your teeth stuck into life."

This interview was broadcast on Radio 4's In Touch programme on Tuesday 8 March 2016.

This was produced as part of BBC News School Report.
