Ed Balls: 'I will make sure the NHS is saved'

Labour is focusing on the economy as it prepares to launch its election manifesto.

Shadow Chancellor Ed Balls told the BBC Labour would "save" the NHS but refused to promise to meet an £8bn NHS spending gap.

Leader Ed Miliband has said if Labour wins the election it would be "the party of responsibility" and would cut the deficit in public finances.

The Conservatives have said Labour has "no clear plan."
